6V
Semester 1, 2020 Class newsletter
6V have had a wonderful start to the school year and settled in well to their final year of primary school. Unfortunalty our learning was disturbed, and unexpected changes were made as we were faced with the COVID-19 pandemic. All students had to complete online learning and use a number of online learning platforms such as Seesaw, Google Classroom and Zoom video sessions. This was a time full of mixed emotions. I am extremely proud of how all students in 6V handled learning at home. Everyone showed great maturity and resilience and did their best to complete tasks.
I would like to congratulate 6V on their dedication to their learning during the Learning at Home, Learning at School Phase. I would also like to thank Miss Nouzad, Mrs To and Mrs Daly for supporting 6V during the Learning at Home, Learning at School Phase. 6V have appreciated their support and assistance in class.
I look forward to the exciting times ahead during semester 2.Literacy
This semester 6V have engaged with a variety of texts ranging from Narratives, Informative Texts and Journal Writing. 6V are continuing to become confident writers. They've worked hard to become creative and imaginative thinkers that capture the readers attention by using figurative language and imagery. 6V are becoming independent learners by focusing on self- assessment according to the success criteria and peer assessment by providing constructive feedback to each other.
Numeracy
This semester 6V have been working hard to develop their number skills in range of activities. These activities have allowed the students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. They have developed their ability to explain and justify their mathematical thinking to their peers through number talks and group work.
