Principal’s Message
What an incredible start to full day learning! It has been wonderful to see all of the students together again in person and online. Students attending school in person have done a phenomenal job of following safety procedures. Parents, please remember to complete the Crisis Go self certification process every morning by 8:00 a.m. Students will not be permitted to enter the building until they have been certified.

iRead 2021 Results
Red Oak came in 4th place in the 2021 iRead competition. Although it was an unconventional year, we had very good participation. Every school year we do a little better so 2022 will be our year!! Congratulations to Ravinia School for winning this year’s competition.
Our top readers in each grade level were:
K - Victoria R.
1st - Zachary S.
2nd - Valentina R.
3rd - William M.
4th - Jackson C.
5th - Evan M.
Our top fundraiser was Maya K. from Mrs. Monge’s kindergarten class!
We are so proud of these students and all of our students who participated in iRead this year. Great job!
Text Reminders for Crisis Go
When you receive your email for the COVID-19 pre-visit certification, there is a new area where you can opt in to start receiving SMS notifications for your child’s screening.
If you choose to add your phone number, you will start receiving text message notifications. If you do not opt in, you will not receive the messages.
Please note that you will still receive the email message regardless of whether or not you opt in to receive the text messages.
PCR Testing for COVID-19
PCR testing REPLACES the weekly saliva screening.
Testing is voluntary and requires consent to participate. If a child were to test positive, the District will consult with the Lake County Health Department and refer to the IDPH Interim Exclusion Guidance.
For information on the screening please refer to the documents below.
Consent Form - Student ID can be found in the PARENT PORTAL.
IMPORTANT: when using a cell phone device Turn OFF the Mobile-Friendly button and click OK (to see the complete text)
IMPORTANT: When signing, type your initials and draw your signature in the text box
If you wish to have your child(ren) participate in the COVID-19 screening, a consent form will need to be completed for each child. The consent form will remain open for the remainder of the school year and must be completed by Sunday to participate in the following week. Please see the videos below for demonstrations on how to conduct the test at home.

Month of the Military Child
Red Oak School is proud to celebrate the Month of the Military Child this April. Do you know why purple is the official color of the Month of the Military Child? If you blend together all the colors of the US military branches...they create a purple hue! Show your support by wearing Purple EVERY Friday in April!
District 112 will be hosting a Month of the Military Child parade through the neighborhood of Fort Sheridan. Stay tuned for more details!!!
