Reminder! Backpacks not allowed at after-school activities!

Backpacks are not permitted at after school activities such as dances, home games, or any other after school event.

They will no longer be stored or kept by staff at any of these events. It is your responsibility to either leave your backpack at home or find a safe place to store it.

The school is not responsible for any lost or stolen bags.

The Community Service Fair will be along Union Mine Way tomorrow September 20 during lunch! Everyone is welcome and together we can make a difference. Come check out volunteer opportunities at this great event!

Salsa Competition this Friday!

Attention all students! Every year your UMHS staff make salsa for you to taste test!

This Friday during lunch be sure to try the many different salsas along Union Mine Way and vote for your favorite!

Free showing of The Great Gatsby, September 21

Come to the UM Theatre this Friday night for a FREE showing of The Great Gatsby to help you gear up for Homecoming. (If you didn't already know, the Great Gatsby is the theme for our Homecoming Dance).
  • Movie starts @ 6:00pm
  • We will be accepting cash donations for the Red Cross and refreshments will be sold at intermission.
  • Everyone is welcome!

Conditioning begins this week, only three days:
  • Monday, 2:15-3:45pm
  • Today, Wednesday 3:15-4:45pm
  • Friday, 3:15-4:45pm
Next week conditioning will be everyday.

French Food Festival

Come by H6 this Friday during lunch to taste some traditional dishes from French speaking countries around the world.

Placerville Rec and Parks is now accepting applications for youth basketball scorekeepers. Application deadline is tomorrow, September 20. Apply online, or swing by the CCC for more information.

Red Cross Fund Drive ends Friday, September 21

This is the last week to donate to our American Red Cross drive to help victims of the recent California wildfires . Mason jars are in your 2nd block classes if you would like to donate money. The 2nd block class that raises the most money by this Friday, will win a pizza party!

Attention Safe School Ambassadors

Attention Safe School Ambassadors - our first meeting with be at DBACK next Wednesday, September 26. Check into your advisory and then use the pass that will be delivered to you to travel to the Cafeteria. If you did NOT attend the training but still want to be a Safe School Ambassador see Mrs. Zeiter-Smith in H-14 by Friday, September 21.

Homecoming is September 29!

Tickets are on sale today at a discounted rate:
  • $20 (with an ASB )
  • $30 (without an ASB)
  • Tickets will be sold at lunch in front of the C building.
  • Remember, School ID Cards are needed to purchase tickets for HOMECOMING.
  • Your HOMECOMING tickets will be loaded onto your ID Card when you purchase them. (this is new this year)
  • No ID Card = no tickets.
  • Also, you must clear any book fines before you purchase a ticket.
  • Go to the finance window to get your ID or ASB card or to clear any fines.
  • If you are bringing a non-UMHS Student to Homecoming, pick up your guest pass from the AP Office. Reminder: your guest has to be enrolled in high school or younger than 19 years old. Questions? See Erin in the AP Office.
  • Guest passes must be turned in by next Wednesday, 9/26 at the latest!
