Resurrection-St. Paul School
News and Notes
Last Issue of Wednesday News and Notes!
At the State of the School meeting, we heard your request for more streamlined communication. We are answering this call by merging our Wednesday News and Notes Newsletter with our Sunday night The Week Ahead Notes. This also supports our efforts to be a true Green School by reducing paper consumption. Moving to e-newsletters in lieu of the printed Wednesday News and Notes with printed flyers saves not only trees but also limits the number of e-mails we send out each week. Moving forward, each family will receive one "newsletter" on Sunday nights. All flyers, downloadable documents, and links will be embedded in this Sunday Night News and Notes Newsletter.
Any content that you would like published in the newsletter must be submitted to Mrs. Rensberger at rrensberger@resstpaul.org by the Wednesday before the newsletter is pushed out. We are trying to limit the amount of KSwift alerts that we send out, so any submissions received after the Wednesday deadline will have to wait until the following newsletter to be published.
We appreciate your patience as we try to best serve our community while staying Green and protecting our environment.
Blessings,
The RSPS Administrative Team

Peace Maker-AOB Collaborative Art Project on Display at RSPS from March 26th-April 1st
The peacemaker project is complete! Thank you to Claire Hoerl, art teacher at St. John Westminster, and all the art teachers and students who dedicated time and talent to make this happen. This project speaks to our vision of nurturing and sustaining the God-given gifts of our students and using said gifts in the mission of Jesus. Beginning this week, the display will travel to every school that contributed to the project for the remainder of the school year. The project will be delivered to the school’s main office. A schedule and details will be sent to the participating schools this week. The peacemaker project was highlighted in the Catholic Review last week. Here is the link for the article.

Mrs. Mary Pat Andreas- RSPS Teacher of the Year
Our teacher of the year, Mary Pat Andreas, has been at RSPS for several years. She instills in students the love of learning with a can-do attitude. She takes learning very seriously and worked on her Master' degree for several years while she was teaching full time. Mrs. Andreas was an early adopter which means she was one of the first ones to use the Daily 5, Words Their Way and Mentor Sentences. Most of our teachers in Grades K-5 now use this framework. She is a team player and is always willing to try something new. In addition to her daily teaching, Mrs. Andreas has been a cheerleader for PBIS since we first started. She has an active member of the PBIS staff committee for several years and is always thinking of new ways to celebrate children, staff, and parents at our school. Speaking of cheerleading, our Teacher of the Year is one of the teachers who started our spirit club to cheer on RSPS students during standardized testing and the 8th-grade pep rally many years ago. Mrs. Andreas is a team leader and is always going out of her way to do things for others. She has a smile on her face and is genuinely happy to see all those she meets. Congratulations, Mrs. Andreas!
National History Day Competition
Congratulations to Bella Reyes, Caroline Huber, Joseph Walther and Andrew Phelps for representing RSPS at the National History Day finals at Reservoir High School this past weekend!

Maryland Green School, PBIS School, and AdvancED STEM Accreditation Applications
Mrs. Kelsey Jordan and the PBIS Committee continue to make RSPS a positive place to work, learn and play! We need to extend our appreciation for completing this year's application for a PBIS award. We are shooting for our 4th consecutive Gold Award.
It's all hands on deck for our AdvancED STEM School Certification application! We are excited to pursue this designation and will welcome the AdvancED Certification Team to come to evaluate our school with a two-day visit in May. The evaluators will be observing classes and interviewing students and faculty. We look forward to their visit and feedback. Thank you to Mrs. Patsy Grue and her team for making this happen!
