About ASPCA
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. The ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.

They hide their pain in colors/ Circus cruelty
Although the issues regarding circus cruelty have gained much-needed attention in recent years, circus animals still suffer from lives of confinement, social deprivation and violent methods of training. Former circus employees have reported seeing animals beaten, whipped and denied food and water, all to force them to learn their routines. In the United States, no government agency monitors animal training sessions.
Please, help us, stand against circus cruelty !!
Blood Sports
The ASPCA is fully committed to ending all bloodsports forever. One way we fight back against this gruesome form of cruelty is through raids and investigations.
Volunteer!!!
We rely on our wonderful volunteers to help with many aspects of our shelter operations. Without our volunteers, we couldn't do all the good things we do.
