4-H Council Applications Now Being Accepted
The purpose of the Washington County 4-H Council is to promote and to assist in the planning and execution of the 4-H program. Apply to serve in an integral role to the Washington County 4-H Program. For the 2021 election, there are two adult full term (3 year) positions open and 6 youth full term (1 year) positions open. Applications can be found by going to https://extension.unl.edu/statewide/washington/washington-county-4-h-council/. Applications are to be sent to WashingtonCounty4h@unl.edu - the deadline has been extended to Wednesday, July 28th Online Ballots will be announced when available.
Contest Day | July 24th
Contest Day will be held on Saturday, July 24th at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Arlington. The letter and schedule for the day was sent out to all participants who were pre-entered by Thursday, July 8th. Visit https://extension.unl.edu/statewide/washington/washington-county-4-h-contests/ to find all information pertaining to Contests for the Washington County Fair Contest Day on July 24th.
The Fashion Show, Favorite Foods, Life Challenge and Presentation Contests will be held in the Rybin Building and NOT the Two Rivers building.
Please Note: There will not be any food vendors on the grounds during Contest Day. Please plan accordingly.

Horse Show Patterns
Washington County 4-H Families—
Plan to attend Fair Clean Up Day this Sunday 07/25 from 1-4PM at the Fairgrounds, plan to meet by the 4-H Building. The Washington County Fair Board puts in a lot of work to make the grounds as well as the 4-H Space looking top notch each year for the fair. This is a great opportunity to pitch in and help out!
2021 WCF 4-H Sign Ups Are Open
It takes several people to ensure that the 4-H portion of the Washington County Fair runs smoothly. Consider volunteering for one of the many opportunities available. Opportunities include; Static and Contest help, Pancake Feed help, Pizza Stand help or volunteer to lead the morning Meet Me at the Flagpole. All are good opportunities for both adults and youth to directly be involved at the fair and learn more about the 4-H Program by being at the forefront of a large event. 4-H Grows and Gives Back at the Washington County Fair
Happening again for the 2021 Washington County Fair. All Horticulture exhibits will be donated to the Washington County Food Pantry. Have extra produce at home? Plan to bring to static exhibit check-in Friday OR Saturday and we will add to all of the produce that we will donate for 2021.
Washington County 4-H Council Pancake Feed
Join the Washington County 4-H Council on Sunday, August 1st for their annual pancake feed fundraiser at the Washington County Fair. The council will be serving from 8AM-11Am in the Rybin Building on Sunday. The pancake feed will be a Free Will Donation with all funds raised returning to the Washington County 4-H Program.
4-H Fashion Show & Awards Program
Don’t forget to join us on Sunday, August 1st at 6 PM in the Rybin Building. Fashion Show participants will start us off following with our Contest Day award winners and our Top Exhibit winners. We are looking forward to celebrating all of the accomplishments of our Washington County youth!

Video Companion Animal Showmanship Contest

Virtual & At-Home Educational Resources
Jump into the world of ART+ENTREPRENEURSHIP with the upcoming Living Room Learning+! This interactive virtual experience will engage youth in using the elements and principles of design to create artwork and tell a story. Participants will also meet two creative entrepreneurs who will share their own ART+ENTPRENREUERSHIP stories. This opportunity is free and open to all youth! Livestock Achievement Program
We’re excited to announce the NEW Livestock Achievement Program. This opportunity is design to promote all educational aspects of the 4-H livestock projects including selection, production, leadership, and exhibition by recognizing youth striving to improve in their livestock project knowledge and leadership. The program recognizes intermediate and senior Members of Excellence across all 4-H livestock project areas, including beef, sheep, meat goat, swine, dairy cattle, dairy goat, rabbit, and poultry.
