Congratulations Term 2 Honor Roll Students!

We are super proud of our Term 2 honor roll students! Honor Roll awards were distributed last Tuesday for eligibile students. This is a reminder that permission slips to attend the Honor Roll incentive trip to Incrediplex on Thursday, January 17th are due to the main office by the end of the day Monday.

Tuesday, January 15th PBIS Student Night

On Tuesday, January 15th all students who pay $20 in CORE Cash (paper money earned through PBIS) will receive a bracelet to stay after school next Tuesday and go to their choice of the girls or boys home basketball games. Students staying after school will participate in open gym or classroom movies until game time (5:15 p.m.). The concession stand will be open so students can bring money for concessions. There will be halftime contests and raffles so bring your CORE cash! Rides should be ready at Door 7 (athletic entrance) at 7:30 p.m.

2018 ISTEP correction Update:

Families,

We were notified by the IDOE that on 12:01 a.m ET Monday, January 14, Pearson will disable access to ISTEP+ Spring 2018 results in Parent Portal. If you would like a copy of your student's ISTEP+data, you will want to visit the site and download it. The website can be found by clinking the link below:

Missoula Children's Theater Coming Soon

Please join us…

The Warren Arts and Education Foundation invites Warren Township Students K-8 to audition for King Arthur’s Quest directed by Missoula Children’s Theater. Auditions are Monday February 4th @ 4:30pm in the auditorium at Creston Middle School, 10925 E Prospect Street. Students who are cast must be available to rehearse Monday Feb 4th- Friday Feb 8th from 4:30-9:00pm and ALL day Saturday Feb. 9th for dress rehearsal and performances at 3 and 7p.m. This opportunity is free to students, there is a $5.00 admission fee to attend performances on Saturday. The Warren Township Council of PTSs runs this pantry that provides food, toiletries, cleaning products, school supplies and gently used clothing to families of Warren Township students.

Parents/guardians need to get a signed letter from the school to go to Sonny Day. Please contact Mrs. Jones, school counselor, at 317-532-6800 ext. 6817.

Fall Sports Update





After winter break wrestling practices will be everyday after school until 5 pm. Please email Coach Andy St. Laurent (dstlaur2@warren.k12.in.us) if you have any questions.


Track pre-season conditioning will continue on Tuesdays every week after winter break. It will be after school until 4:30 pm. Athletes staying for conditioning will be expected to ride the activity bus home on those nights. You must have a physical on file with Mr. Treesh if you are planning to stay for conditioning. Questions may be directed to Mr. Treesh, Athletic Director, or Mr. Peckham, track coach.

How important is attendance for student success?

The single most important factor for student achievement and graduation vs dropout rate is student attendance (Reid, 2006). The state of Indiana with the new ESSA Plan has defined a student with "model attendance" as missing no more than 7 days of school. Anything over 7 days is defined by the state as "chronic abseentism." We have challenged our students to do even better than that and set a goal of missing no more than 5 days of school this year.


We do understand that there are situations that arise where an absence can't be prevented. Please help communicate those reasons to the school by calling the main line at 532-6800 between 6:00-7:00 a.m. to report the absence.


Excused Absences Include:

1. Personal illness or injury (please drop off physician's notes to front desk)

2. Death in the immediate family

3. Attendance at a family funeral

4. Religious observances required by church officials

5. Serving as a page in the legislature

6. Court appearance/court detention

7. Working at polls

21st Century Scholars

The Indiana 21st Century Scholarship Program is an early commitment college promise program funded by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE), offering income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana two-year and/or four-year higher education institution.



Students must be enrolled before June 30th of their 8th grade year.

P.E. Uniforms For Sale at the Bookstore

The bookstore will be open every morning before school and during P.E. classes next week for students who still need to purchase P.E. uniforms. The cost is $20 and includes a shirt, shorts, and CMS string bag.
