Care, Connection and Continuity of Learning.
Teachers, thanks for taking the time to complete the summary survey for tech needs. If you were not yet been able one last chance I have an admin meeting mid-day on Monday that I will need the best information that I can.

Short Timelines This Week
I appreciate your attendance multiple times last week for our grade-level team meetings. Again, it has been a bit more effective working through our processes in smaller teams and will continue this approach and will adjust as needed. I know teams are already discussing their distance learning plans and this is great. In our meetings this week, we will need to set some short deadlines for the first week's launch to ensure both time for special education support plans to be developed and to ensure a plan for printed material to be produced and delivered in some fashion. Both of which I don't have a plan for but will have one soon:)
I have shared with you all the tentative plan for our first week. Hearing no real arguments against this format, we will give it a trial run, learn from it and adjust and adapt. We have the flexibility and don't have to commit to any one way. I just need to start to develop an overall communication plan for families and need a place to start.
I have also shared a Distance Learning Weekly Activity Template document that I have adapted for our use. Feel free to use it but if you have something already rolling that works please stay with that.
I'll see you soon!
Glad you're here!
Jamie
Coming Up On Our Calendar
STAY HOME SAVE LIVES! What's coming up this week?
- Staff is asked to stay away and work remotely this week (telework a.k.a. working from home).
- If you have a need to enter the building please clear this through Jamie and/or Heather to make sure we have a plan in place. For those who need to be in the building we will need a plan prior to you coming in.
- We likely all have a variety of needs at this time, e.g. child care for children at home, care of family members, etc. Please know that your health and safety, and that of those you care for, are a priority. We will work together to find schedules that enable you to both telework and attend to the needs of your families.
Know that:
- Taking care of people is job one.
- We more than likely won’t get it right the first time.
- Things will change.
- In waiting for the best solution, we risk missed opportunities.
- Traditional solutions don’t fit anymore.
- We have to respond in ways we’ve never thought of responding.
- What rules used to apply, might not apply anymore.
- Not having an answer is more prevalent than ever. It’s okay to not have the answer.
- Be calm, be clear, be direct and people will follow.
For now, know that we are all in this together. This situation was unpredictable; this time is unprecedented. We will figure it out together-- with patience and flexibility and understanding.
