JOHN LOCKE

Locke "Natural Rights!"

Enlightenment Philosepher: John Locke

John Locke was born on August 29, 1632 in Wrington, Somerset, England. Locke studied medicine, which would play a central role in his life. He was a highly influential philosopher, he wrote about philosophy, epistemology, and education.

Locke's Thoughts

Locke believed that human nature is governed by natural laws. In order to obey natural laws, al humans must exercise natural rights: the rights to life, liberty, and property. Locke argued that the function of government was to protect these rights. If a government did not protect, the citizens had the natural right to change it for one that would.

Another words, the citizens could over throw a government that was not doing its job.
