Parent Information Night

This Wednesday is Parent Information Night. This is an opportunity for parents to learn about the curriculum for the upcoming school year and meet your child's teacher. Space is limited for this event, so we recommend that you find alternate plans for students if at all possible. There will be a 30 minute classroom presentation along with the opportunity to visit various locations around the school to meet special areas teachers or service providers. A flyer was placed in mailboxes on Friday, so you may have already seen the invitation to this event. The schedule for presentations is listed below:

Second Grade:

6:30 - 7:00 classroom presentations

7:00 - 7:30 visit with special area teachers and service providers

Third Grade:

6:30 - 7:00 visit with special area teachers and service providers

7:00 - 7:30 classroom presentations

There will be a parent presentation by our reading teachers for those students who received AIS support in reading last year and who we anticipate will continue with this support during the Walk to Instruction time in our schedule. An separate invitation to this presentation was also distributed to selected students.

The classrooms presentations will begin promptly at 6:30 and 7:00. Parking in available in the Barclay Lot, the Barclay/Ginther Bus Loop, and at the TTC across Central School Drive.

Volunteering

If you plan to volunteer in Barclay School you must complete the online application. Volunteers who were approved through this system last year do not need to apply again. You must be approved to volunteer for events which occur in the classrooms, or if you wish to assist with field trips. It's a good idea to submit the application now and go through the approval process. We will be unable to process applications on short notice. You may follow the link below to get to our district volunteer page.

We will have computers available during parent information night should you wish to submit an application that evening.

Ways to Stay Connected

There are a variety of ways to stay connected to Barclay School. We do not have a Facebook page through the school district, but we do have a Twitter account. If you ever have a question that needs attention outside of school hours, I recommend that you use e-mail to connect with the desired adult.
