ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL - January 20th, 2023
*DEDICATION*GROWTH*COMMUNITY*
Message from the Principal
Dear Knights,
Congratulations to the VEX Robotics team for a wonderful performance at 01/14/2023 competition. Good luck to Future City, Speech & Debate & Academic Pentathlon teams as they head into their competitions. Congratulations to Venkata Suchith Nathani for his performance at the District Spelling Bee. We wish you best of luck as you head into the regional spelling bee on Feb. 15.
Thank you for working hard. All of your hard work is paying as we are seeing tremendous growth in each of you as measured by the district common finals and overall classroom performance. One area of improvement is attendance. With the COVID disruption behind us for the most part, please be in attendance and on time daily.
All 8th graders will again participate in Pre ACT 8/9 on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 during the early release instructional day. Additionally, back by popular demand we will offer the PSAT 8/9 to interested 7th & 8th graders on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The fee for the exam is $20. Please use this form to sign up for it.
Parents - we need your help! Please ensure your student is in attendance and on time to classes daily. We are seeing an increase in absences and tardies. Students with numerous tardies to classes will be issued disciplinary consequences beginning next week.
Arizona College Prep 6th grader Cecil Lynn recently competed in the 2023 USA Junior National Curling Championships. The boy’s team represented the Mountain Pacific Curling (MOPAC) region, consisting of clubs in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Utah. As the youngest boys’ team to ever compete at this event, Cecil had an amazing time playing against the best junior teams in the country, including the team that went on to win the championship.
Thank you,
Manjula K Reddy
Principal
ACP Middle School
Special Note:
This semester we will be running weekly tardy reports. Following their third, unexcused tardy and for each subsequent unexcused tardy, students will be assigned 10 minutes of community service which will be served during their Friday AcLab. Parents will receive an email notification any time community service is assigned. Please contact Fred DePrez (DePrezJr.Fred@cusd80.com) with any questions or concerns.

PLEASE MAKE A TAX CREDIT DONATION TO ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL
Arizona tax law allows individual taxpayers to claim a nonrefundable tax credit for making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in AZ for support of eligible activities and programs.
At the junior high level, the school office is unable to reallocate / redirect funds without parent and district approval. Be sure to select the specific fee for the activity where you want your payment applied. Sports fees are assigned quarterly and club fees are assigned once established.
When paying fees online (band/ orchestra, club or athletics fees, etc.), please consider making an additional contribution to our general fund in December to reach the maximum credit allowable.
http://az01001175.schoolwires.net/page/1131
Once you have paid all outstanding fees for ACP Middle School or if you have a family member that resides in AZ, please consider making an additional tax credit contribution to ACP's general fund before December 31st. If you are able to make your tax contributions prior to the end of the calendar year, your donation would be greatly appreciated. It will help give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50,000.00 this school year and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and ACP Middle School!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
