A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL RUIZ

Highlander Family,


We have so much to be thankful for this school year! We are so proud to have the best teachers, supportive parents and the best feeder pattern. It takes a village, but together we can ensure our students rise to high expectations!


Congratulations to our STEM Robotics team! We now have two teams who have qualified to State. May our legacy of winning continue! Great job to our wonderful teacher, Mrs. Tseng for her commitment to our students!


Here are some reminders this week:


  • This Thursday, November 18, we our hosting our Community Showcase on the Hill from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. This event will showcase everything that Hill has to offer while also showcasing community partnerships. We will also host a coat drive sponsored by Hope Dallas. Invite your friends and your neighbors!


  • Please help us ensure all students have Yondr pouches daily. If your child lost theirs and needs to purchase a new one, please have them see Mrs. Williams, our Coordinator. They are $20 to replace and we currently have 10 gently used Yondr pouches for $10, but those will go quickly. Please note effective Monday, November 29, we will not be able to hold the buses for those who leave their phones in the front office.

  • Science Fair Project Season is here! Check out the resources below. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's science teacher.

  • After school tutoring will only be this Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:10 p.m.-5:10 p.m. Bus transportation is provided, but please note the new bus routes.

        YONDR

        Yondr is back for the 2021-2022 School Year at Hill Middle School! We are a phone free zone. Please make sure students bring their cell phones daily. Also, Apple Watches will also be placed in the Yondr pouches.
        UNIFORMS

        Here is the 2021-2022 Uniform Guide for Hill Middle School. Students will receive their ID badges during Social Studies classes this week. They must bring their ID badges daily to school as part of their uniform attire.

        SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST

        Here is the 2021-2022 School Supply List for Hill Middle School. Please note that will we not charge for jeans or SWAG, but students will have the opportunity to earn jeans day for winning a house challenge.

        ARRIVAL @ HILL

        • School starts at 8:20 a.m. and parents may begin dropping off students at 7:45 a.m.
        • Parents may drop off students using the circle driveway in the back of the school ONLY.
        • All students will enter through the back of the school. Students will not be permitted to enter through the front of the building.

        DISMISSAL @ HILL

        • School ends at 3:55 p.m.
        • Parents may pick up students on the street behind the school, Classen Dr. and the front of the school.
        • Cars will not be permitted to enter the staff parking lot or the circle driveway behind the school to pick-up students until all buses are gone.
        • Please refrain from picking up students in the faculty/staff parking lot.

        Our teachers and staff work so hard, often going without lunch or snacks. Let's help stock the teachers lounge. View the Amazon wish list and you can just have it shipped directly to the school (easy!) Go off the list or order something else you think they might like. Let's show those that spend their days with our children some love!
