What's Happening This Week

AMS Celebrates Our Teachers May 9-13

AMS will be celebrating our teachers this week. If you have an opportunity please take the time to send a THANK YOU Note to our teachers. They work tireless hours to prepare lessons, grade papers, and mentor students. We have the best and we thank them for all that they do to make AMS GREAT!!!

Friday, May 6 AMS celebrated the great Child Nutrition Program Ladies that keep the AMS cafeteria running so much. THANK YOU - you are true "Super Heroes".

AMS SPRING FOOTBALL INFO

Spring practice Dates: May 9, 11, 16, 17, 18

Practice Times will be from 3:40-5:40 (Wed Practice ends at 5:10)


***All paperwork must be completed and turned in before any student may participate in Spring Workouts, which includes up to date physical and insurance info.***

AHS/AMS Girls Basketball Tryouts for 2016-17

Coach Murphree will be hosting girls basketball tryouts beginning Monday, May 9 at 3:30 at the high school gym. If you are interested in trying out must have all paperwork completed prior to participating in the tryout.

AMS Registration Information for 2016-17

The ACS Board approved the 2016-17 AMS Curriculum Catalog last Thursday night. We are excited to be offering more elective choices next year and the catalog will answer some general questions about all that AMS has to offer. The catalog and registration forms will be posted next week on the AMS Website.

Tuesday, May 10 - All 6th Grade Registration forms are DUE to their AIS Homeroom Teacher


Current AMS 7th Graders


Tuesday, May 10 - 7th grade registration forms are DUE to their English Teacher


AMS Counselors will be available, after the students and parent informational meetings are held if parents feel they have questions that can not be answered via email, for appointments please email Mrs. Winter at AIS for 6th Gr. Tools for School Supply Give A Way - July 16, 2016

New Life Assembly of God in partnership with Sole Mission and numerous local businesses is hosting a FREE school supply give-a-way. Items to be given are a backpack, grade level school supplies, a brand new pair of tennis shoes and a voucher for a free haircut. Registration begins May 23rd and is limited to the first 300 Athens City School District students grades K-12. Registration is required, but NO specific income criteria will need to be met in order to receive the free supplies. You may register online at www.athensnewlife.com or Mon-Fri 9am-1pm at the church office (16768 US Hwy 72 W, Athens, AL 35611).

AHS Volleyball Camp Summer 2016

Volleyball instruction will be directed by Varsity Coaches and college players.

  • VB Skills Camp Ages 5-10 8am-11am $50 (Includes T-Shirt) Ages 11 and Up - 1pm -4pm $50 (Includes T-Shirt)
  • Hitter and Setter Camp - Ages 11and Up 4pm - 5:30pm $20 (Must be attending skills camp)
  • Registration Deadline is June 20th- Insures your Tshirt order

AHS Baseball Camp Summer 2016

The camp is based on instruction in the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and pitching. Campers will practice and compete with campers in their age group. Ages 5 - 12. The camp is June 6 - 8, (Monday - Wednesday). 9:00 a.m. - noon.

  • AMS Student MAC BOOK return will be May 16.
  • AMS School Awards Day will be May 17 at 8:30am -10am - Doors will open after the first bell rings at 8:05am
  • Friday, May 20 Last Day for Students Dismissal will be at 11:30am Buses will run normal routes.

Athens High School

  • 5/15 Baccalaureate - 6pm AMS Auditorium
  • 5/19 AHS Graduation 7pm Golden Eagle Stadium
