How to Be Successful
Top 10 Recommendations
- Attend lab every day! Be on time every day. The schedule is very flexible and offers many open time frames to accommodate transportation and work.
- Work to your highest potential everyday- stay focused on your goal!
- If you need help- just let us know! When a teacher sits down next to you to help, be open to accepting help! Staff will help you with your frusterations in a subject you are struggling with or help with reviewing for a test.
- Talk to you mentor when you have concerns- email if you run into something while working from home on weekends or after school.
- Work on your classes outside of the school lab hours as much as possible!
- Take notes- use graphic organizers! Let your teacher show you how to take notes if you have not before or your system of taking notes seems to be a struggle.
- Work on your required classes 1st and electives 2nd!
- Study your notes prior to taking a Post test!
- Request "paper & pencil" Post tests if you find you do better than through the on-line assessments. Some students do better taking a Math Post Test with paper & Pencil.

Gradpoint Curriculum Reminders!
- Go to the link on the left side of the Atherton Community Schools website to log into GradPoint outside of class.
- Your username is your first initial of your first name followed by your full last name
- Your password if your student number or may be your birthdate
- No pre-or post tests can be taken outside of school. You will receive a "0" on tests taken outside of school
- You may not google answers to quiz or test questions. If you need help studying- ask! If you are caught cheating you will receive a "0" and may have to start the class over again
- Post tests must be completed at a 70% or higher or require test to be re-taken or test corrections to earn the 70%.
