7 Habits at Home: Habit 4 - Think Win-Win: Consider Other People's Wins as Well as Your Own
When facing a situation where not everyone’s idea can “win” we have to find the courage to find happiness in resolution of a problem and the great ideas of others. We can find pride in this happiness and being a part of the solution. Being happy for others in their moments of success will create an environment where everyone can feel celebrated and integral to success of the group.

Nurse Notes
Dear Lone Star Families,
So far 2021 feels like we are stuck inside an episode of "The Twilight Zone" with so much bad news and many disturbing news clips. It is making my 2021 goal of a thankful attitude much more of an effort than I anticipated. But I can persist, see, and appreciate the good that is here. Today I am thankful for the joy of your kids as they exaggeratedly point to tiny scrapes or wiggle a loose tooth to me as they walk by the clinic door following their teacher like adorable ducklings. Tomorrow I will be thankful to hear the exuberant, "Good job, Grandma!" from my special-needs granddaughter as she will praise me for the tiniest of tasks.
I am thankful that MISD is adding a voluntary K-12 COVID-19 testing program for staff and students. Please know that at no time will COVID-19 testing be mandatory.
This program uses Abbott Laboratories BinaxNOW tests provided by the federal government. For individuals who have been exposed to a positive case, testing provides the individual the opportunity to return to in-person instruction in a shorter amount of time than without testing.
The tests are available at no cost to MISD employees and students. If you would like to schedule an appointment for your child to be administered a Rapid Test, please visit the following link below. This website will provide additional information about the testing being provided, access to the consent form for testing, and the ability to schedule an appointment.
The district plans to offer appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the MISD Education Support Center (20774 Eva Street, Montgomery, TX 77356). If your child is sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please do not send them to their home campus. Testing for students will only be available at the MISD Education Support Center.
Before scheduling an appointment, please consult with your school nurse. Results from the test will be shared with the campus and the nurse will communicate an appropriate return to school date for your child. If you have more than one MISD student needing tested, you will need to make a separate appointment for each student.
Any questions about the program can be directed to Dr. Amy Busby, Director of Special Programs, (936) 276-2244.
