Academic Letter Assembly - Tuesday 9/20/22 at 9:35 a.m.
This is our chance to recognize your child's commitment to learning as well as encourage and support his/her continuing efforts.
Qualification: Student must have achieved a 3.7 or higher cumulative GPA for just the 2021-22 school year. This is different than overall cumulative GPA for all years in high school.
Click on the button below to see if your child is being recognized. Due to security, you must access list via your child's school gmail account.
The number listed AFTER a student's name indicates how many years, he/she has received this award.
If you are unsure if your child should have gotten recognition, do not hesitate to call Mrs. Stapp in the Counseling Office at least 24 hours PRIOR to the event, and she can check.
ID Pictures Distributed in SRT on 8/25 & Picture Retake Day - September 22nd
Students should have received his/her student ID in SRT on 8/25, if picture was taken at schedule pick-up. GCI 2nd Session students can pick up his/her ID in the Main Office.
School Picture Retake Date on Thursday, September 22nd during SRT.
Constitution Day Activity in SRT
Thursday (9/15/22) marked our Annual Constitution Day celebration in SRT at Fenton High School.
Thanks to Social Studies Department Chair, Patti Gray, and her Social Studies colleagues, this year students played Constitution Bingo.
Prizes for the individuals who won the first round of Bingo in each SRT was provided, thanks to our Community Partner, Jersey Mike's.
Here is what we did:
---------
Bill of Rights Bingo Instructions (remember all necessary materials will be provided)
1. Distribute copies of the Bill of Rights (sharing with a partner) and bingo card (1 per student) to students. Have them fill in their bingo card with numbers 1-10 of their choice.
2. Read each scenario one at a time. Have the students determine, using their copy of the Bill of Rights, which amendment(s) correlate with this scenario, then mark that square on their bingo card. You may wish to do this portion with partners or even as a whole group, but this should be done WITHOUT the internet. Confirm or correct their answer for each scenario before moving on to the next.
3. The first student to get bingo wins and reports to the office at the end of SRT to collect his/her prize and pose for a group photo.
See the picture below of some of our winners!

Heroes' Night - Friday, September 23rd - Home Varsity Football Game
As you may have noticed, the name on the jersey did not always match the name of the player. The jersey name pays tribute to one of our local heroes and at the conclusion of the game, biographical information about the hero will be shared, and the jersey will be presented to the individual or his/her family.
Positivity Project: Theme of the Week: Other People Matter: Being Present & Giving Attention
This week our school community will be focusing on the Other People Mindset of Being Present and Giving Others My Attention. This means when I’m with other people, I’m present and give them my full attention.
This element of the Other People Mindset is so important today due to the increasing number of distractions vying for our time and attention. Phone calls, text messages, emails, social media notifications all have the dangerous capacity to pull us away from the present moment and, what’s most important -- our relationships with other people.
Just like plants need sunlight to grow, our relationships need attention. If we don’t give our attention to the people we’re building relationships with -- whether family members, close friends, or even distant colleagues -- we can’t build those relationships. It’s vitally important that we pick our heads up from our cell phones and truly listen to other people when they’re talking. A positive culture is built on positive relationships -- and we can’t build positive relationships without attention.
To practice and encourage the character strength of Other People Matter - Being Present & Giving Attention with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2), where together you will watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions.
Last Week's Theme: Open-Mindedness

FHS Home Football Games
1. Friday, September 23rd - Fenton vs. Holly (home) - (Heroes Night)
2. Friday, September 30th - Fenton vs. Kearsley (home) - (Homecoming)
3. Friday or Saturday (TBD) October 14th or 15th - Fenton vs. TBD
Note: Students are NOT to bring bags or footballs to the football games.
The Reason Why:
Over the years, unsuspecting people have been hit by flying footballs, run into by students running around and not paying attention to their surroundings, peer disagreements (close to altercations) amongst kids of all ages take place, and reports of stolen footballs arise.
We have also taken the stance with HS students of no backpacks allowed in the games. We are not taking the stance of "No Bags" for everyone, but with HS kids, we don't know what they may bring in that could be thrown, drunk, left out in the rain (like the chromebook last week), etc.
