Memory Verse for Oct. 17-21

Colossians 3:23

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."

*Children will need to be able to recite this verse by Friday. I hope this one really goes to the heart - Such a powerful and helpful verse!

A peek into our week

ELA-During book club this week, we enjoyed a Historical Fiction called Snowshoe Thompson. We really enjoyed having a couple of dads come in and share things that connected to the story. We also worked with Homonyms and Synonyms.

Math - We continue to work on addition and subtraction strategies and Word Problem solving skills. PLEASE continue to work on Math Facts in a Flash. Passing 4 levels will be our 2nd Quarter challenge... Pizza Hut was lots of fun!

Bible - Our theme this week was forgiveness. When we come to the carpet to discuss and share our thoughts, I am not sure who is doing the teaching!!! Their tender and wise hearts bless me daily.

Science - We didn't get to do much with our Weather Unit this week. I am hopeful we will get to more next week, including making a cloud in a jar. Do any of you have a large mason jar we could use for this?

Upcoming Dates

21st - 1/2 day of school - 7:45-11:30 Teacher Inservice

28th - Fall Parties. Mrs. Priestly is the Room Mom for this party. She will be in touch with her helpers soon.

Parents and Grandparents as guests

We love to have family come to visit! Several parents have come to read us a story after enjoying lunch (we eat at 10:55) with their child. Please let me know if you'd like to do this or if you have another idea:)
