Bonus Years

As you are getting ready for the mid-year parent-teacher conferences, you must make sure to inform the parent(s) if you are considering a "bonus year" for a student in your classroom. A bonus year gives children the opportunity for a student to have an additional year at their current level so that they can develop in areas that are necessary for success when they continue on to the next level.

Please make sure that you complete the attached "Bonus Year Candidate" form, and return to Norma's office by the end of your parent conferences or no later than Friday, February 13th. If you haven't done so already, please make sure to request a Child Study Team meeting for the specific students recommended for a bonus year, so that we can better understand the challenging areas and discuss how we might provide support for the student.
