NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL
I am excited to share with you that Hoover Elementary School in the Mankato Public School District has been recognized as an Exemplary High Performing Schools National Blue Ribbon School for 2017 by U. S. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. Since 1982, the U. S. Department of Education has sought out and celebrated great American schools. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.

Hoover PE Happenings
We are off to a great start in Physical Education class at Hoover this year! As some of you know, Ms. Kathy Schultz retired and is enjoying her time with family and friends. Mr. Adam Hanson is now the full-time PE teacher at Hoover. Miss Annie Dahl is our new PE teacher and travels between Hoover and Eagle Lake. Miss Dahl just had a baby this September, so our guest teacher for the fall is Mrs. Karen Sheldon.
Physical Education is a vital part of a child’s educational, social, and emotional development. At Mankato Public Schools, our Physical Education staff offers a variety of games and activities to contribute to the total growth and development of each student.
Each grade level has a focus for the year in Physical Education.
