Weekly Update
Dr. Ryan Glaze, Superintendent
Welcome Back to School!
As we ready to begin our new school year next Wednesday, August 12, we do so with a renewed focus and commitment to supporting student academic achievement through quality and rigorous in-person and distance learning. The framework for reopening our buildings centered around three essential priorities: to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff and families; support the social emotional well-being of students, staff and families, and to provide robust and meaningful instruction.
I remain grateful to our district reopening task force, amazing teachers, support staff, and site administrators who invested deeply and adapted quickly to the many changes that came their way to accommodate new models of instruction. Our instructional team is prepared to pivot between the traditional, hybrid, and the fully remote model throughout the school year as circumstances dictate. We encourage our families to be prepared to do the same.
We will stay closely connected to our district families through a variety of communication tools including our website (www.tcsc.k12.in.us) and social media as we embark on this journey into and through a new school year together. We encourage you to monitor our website for information related to COVID-19 including our pandemic plan, the latest guidance, updates, helpful information, links, Q & A, and more. It can be accessed directly at: https://www.tcsc.k12.in.us/o/tcsc/page/coronavirus-covid-19--2. The direct link to our Reopening Plan and related documents is: https://www.tcsc.k12.in.us/o/tcsc/browse/149627.
Despite the uncertainty that surrounds us, the start of a new school year is still an exciting time, not only for students, but for families, and our staff as well. We recognize that due to the unique nature of how we are opening this year, it does come with added stress and concern. Please be mindful of these additional stressors and give each other grace and patience as we rise to meet the challenges before us.
As many typically do on the first day of school, please remember to snap a picture or two of your child. If you want to remind us that the first day of school is, and always will be, a special day, we encourage you to upload your pictures to our social media using the hashtag #TiptonPride.
We sincerely thank our families for entrusting us with the education of your children. We are grateful every school year, but especially amid a worldwide pandemic for this honor and privilege. For the foreseeable future, teaching and learning may look, sound, and feel very different, but one thing remains the same - our School Board and all members of the TCSC team are committed to unlocking the potential of every student we serve. #TiptonPride #TiptonTogether
