Principal's Message
Happy Friday!! We have had another great week. We are starting to plan some new great activities for the school.
We have started conversations about a potential trip oversees along with plans for homecoming. We cannot wait to share more as these activities begin to unfold.
Hound Pound Shirt Link
Please purchase your students Hound Pound t-shirt. We are trying to promote students attendance at extra-curricular events. If they purchase a shirt, they will be able to attend games for free.
Wear Yellow on Wednesday
September is Suicide awareness month. The impact of suicide is far reaching. We would like to let students, staff and the community know that there are people to talk to and safe chat and text lines that provide support 24 hours a day. You can text or call 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org. You can also text 741741 or call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255. We are asking the junior and senior high to wear yellow on Wednesday, September 28, in support of suicide awareness.
September Bingo
The LJHS/LHS library is going strong with the September BINGO reading challenge. Students still have time to participate! Stop by the library to grab your sheet and enter for a chance to win a $50 gift card!
Fundraising for 6th and 7th grade
Students in 6th and 7th grade will be getting a packet to sell Mrs. Field's and Cheesecake Factory desserts on Monday. This fundraiser will help benefit our student incentives throughout the building.
Students who sell 15 items will qualify to attend a movie with the principals at Marcus Theater. They will also receive a popcorn and drink. The top seller will be able to chose lunch from any restaurant, pick a friend and eat with the principal.
We are so excited for positive change!
PLC Time
Every Wednesday we will be dismissing at 1:45 p.m. for PLC meetings. Professional Learning Communities are starting this school year. This is a focused time for staff to plan, discuss and evaluate data to increase test scores and overall academic achievement.
