Introduction
Charles Darwin was an English naturalist who proposed the theory of evolution. He also published a book: On the Origin of Species.
Childhood
Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 in the United Kingdom. Though he originally attended a medical school, he already had an interest in natural history. He also enjoyed collecting.
Voyage
On this five year journey round the world, Darwin spent much of his time studying the geology of the land and collecting natural history. His many stops showed very different geology and creatures.

He is mainly known for proposing his theory of evolution with evidence in his book On the Origin of Species. He also explained the diversity of life.

Fun Facts!
While Darwin was on the sea trip, he was often seasick. Pressure later in life from all the work he had caused his health to suffer. He was shown in caricatures as an ape to identify evolutionism with Darwinism. He died in 1882 of heart failure.
