Principal Post

The three R's of education have been replaced with the three W's of education as we move through this hybrid learning model - Wear your mask, Wash your hands, and Watch your distance! This is a daily message to both our students and staff at DuJardin School. Let's do our part to help stem the tide of COVID-19 cases in our community.

Students can wear their Halloween costumes to school next week Thursday (Group A) or Friday (Group B) if they choose. Students will not be allowed to go home at lunch to change and no fake weapons or fake blood will be allowed. A mask/face covering must be worn at all times with any type of costume.

Unfortunately, the DuJardin "Trunk-or-Treat" event scheduled for Friday, October 30th has been canceled.

Book Review - Priscilla's Predicament...the Worrywart Woes

A group of us read a book called Priscilla’s Predicament…Worrywarts Woes. In the book, Priscilla worries about many things such as missing the bus, her hair looking funny, and missing her test. She worried so much she turned into a warthog and went to the nurse. The nurse said to take deep breaths and to start by not worrying about things you can't control. The nurse also told her “worrying won't change things”. In the end, Priscilla realized it was just a dream and that she did not really turn into a worrywort. If you find that you worry a lot and are looking for some strategies to feel better then check out this book! We all give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Student Lunch Deliveries at School Sites

Please read this letter from our Superintendent, Dr. Jon Bartelt regarding the student lunches being delivered to school.

Fifth Grade Band

5th grade beginner band is getting ready to start! The first step for interested students is for them to be able to see and hear all the instruments that are being offered. To do that I will be holding a Google Meet next Monday, 10/26 from 3:30 to 4:00 pm for DuJardin, and 4:00 to 4:30 pm for Erickson. (If you cannot attend the event for your particular school feel free to attend the other session....the meet link will be the same for both). Under normal circumstances I would meet individually with the students to let them try each instrument in person, but obviously that is not an option this year. I will give you more information about how to proceed at the google meets next week, but feel free to email with any questions you might have

The google meet link for this event is:

It is not safe to walk between cars and in front of oncoming traffic

For the safety of our parents and students, we ask that you do not park your car and walk your child through the parking lot to the door. It is not safe. There are two lanes of traffic; one that stops to drop/pick up students and the other a passing lane. It is hard to see parents and students walking between cars when someone is driving in the passing lane. We ask that you stay in your car and use the drop off line. And as always pull all the way up to the DuJardin sign on Euclid.
