Miss Walker's Weekly Bulletin
What is a weekly bulletin?
Week of May 23rd
Thank you for joining us for Open House. It was so neat to see how excited the kiddos were to show off all that they know! They have worked really hard this year! The movie, memory book, and word art will be coming home in June. Everything else was sent home on Friday.
This week, we are finishing our phonics for the entire year. On Thursday and Friday, we'll be taking a big phonics test that's a big part of our grade.
We are also starting our last math unit called Foundations of Multiplication. Students will be learning about odd and even numbers, making arrays, and learning that repeated addition is another way to multiply.
We are also beginning a fun project based learning unit where the students will design a water park. Don't worry, it will all be done in class. This project integrates elements of imagination, math, technology, design, and planning.
On Monday, we will be participating in our first Google Mystery Hangout. Ask your child where the mystery class was from!
Looking for something extra to do? Check out our class Symbaloo with a ton of links to dino research, books, videos, and games. I also posted a classmate survey in Google Classroom for a project we will be working on. In order to log in with our the password, log in through the Cloud.
AR gold medals will be given out at Friday's flag salute. If your child is earning one, I e mailed you about it this morning. Our last AR flag assembly will be June 10th.
PE We have PE on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday this week, please dress appropriately.
Library Bring your book on Tuesday. It is the last day to check out books for the year.
Congratulations to Table A for being the table point winners last week. Thanks for showing respect, making good choices, and solving your problems!
Without Mr. Rentch, we wouldn't have been able to have 5 different spelling groups. Thank you!

Summer Enrichment Class
I will be teaching a STEAM class this summer. We'll be building roller coasters, a wind-powered maze, and a protective container for an egg drop. Registration info is in! As of Monday, there are just 10 spots left. I am so excited that Reese, Anya, Saylor, and Sadie have registered!
Get this book! Give your soon-to-be third grader a head start on their upcoming school year with daily, 15-minute exercises kids can review skip-counting and using adjectives and learn new skills like rounding numbers and writing compound sentences.
