St. Columba Catholic School - News every Friday - 3/5/21
Today is a great day and I am happy to share the news!
This afternoon, nearly all of our faculty and staff were able to go in and receive our first round of vaccinations. Due to some scheduling conflicts, not everybody was able to go, but our school is up for it's turn with the county starting next week, so the rest of our staff will get their first round very soon!
This was made possible thanks to a former parent, Kate Villa, who reached out and set up a time slot for us all to come in today together! Thank you so, so much, Mrs. Villa!
These vaccinations move us one step closer back to normalcy and also allow our school greater flexibility if there happens to be a positive COVID case in a classroom during the rest of the school year! Great day indeed!
Secondly, today I also received the news that our partnership with Shea Family Charities is back on! Last year, we had a lot of upgrades approved, but COVID put it all on hold. I can now officially say that St. Columba will be receiving some wonderful blessings.
By the start of school next year, we will have a turf field instead of dirt, a new playground, AC in all of our classrooms, new windows in all of our classrooms, and a new STEM Lab. In total, Shea Family Charities is investing $800,000 into St. Columba! We are truly, truly blessed!

- Thursday, March 11: Deadline for $50 re-registration fee discount for K-8 families
- Friday, March 12: NO SCHOOL FOR PRESCHOOL AND K-8
St. Patrick's Day Dinner!
Thursday is the deadline to order a St. Patrick's Day Dinner!
Orders can be placed through Schoolspeak or at the Welcome Center with Ms. Linda.
All dinners will be picked up on March 17th, from 4-6pm.

April Hot Lunch Orders
April Hot Lunch Orders are open and need to be turned in by March 26th!
Upcoming Discount Card Fundraiser
In an effort to make up for some of the profits that we did not make from Fall Festival this year, we are holding a Discount Card Fundraiser.
For $10, you will receive a discount card that will be good from April 1, 2021-March 31, 2022 and it will be full of great local partners!
Our confirmed partners include:
Cross Street Chicken and Beer
Pick up Stix
San Diego Sandwich Co.
We have a few more partners to add on, but more information will be coming.
You can start purchasing the cards through Schoolspeak next week.
It will be our expectation that each child buy/sell at least 2 cards.
As a friendly reminder, don't forget to re-register for the 2021-2022 school year before March 12th to get $50 off the registration fee per child.
Registration forms are available in the Welcome Center and can also be accessed through Schoolspeak.
If you know that you will not be returning, please let Mr. Amann know as soon as possible so that he can plan accordingly.
Stations of the Cross: Upcoming Schedule
For the upcoming Fridays of Lent, our K-8 students will be leading and attending Stations of the Cross, a special opportunity for our students to grow closer to Christ as they connect to his Passion and Death.
If any parents or family members wish to join, you are definitely welcome!

2021 Gala: Save the Date
We are hoping that we can host our Annual Gala this year on May 1st.
This event will be a hybrid event, so that anyone can participate, both in-person and virtually!
We will be hosting our Gala (if able) on St. Columba's campus with pre-reserved, physically distanced seating.
