From the Principal
Dear St. Mary’s Families,
As the 2018-19 school year comes to a close, we will be celebrating the transition of our 5th graders to middle school with an assembly on Tuesday at 2pm in the gym. Families are welcome to attend and sit in the bleachers, students in grades K-4 will sit on the floor. We will share a slide show of photos, a few speeches, and provide each student with a certificate and a MAMS t-shirt. We will miss our 5th graders very much, and wish them well in their next adventure.
We also will be saying goodbye to one of our dedicated employees, Mrs. Sue Tapia, she will be retiring after 18 years of service to our district! She coordinated today’s book giveaway, and we will miss her very much!
We say auf weidersehn, or until we meet again, to Mrs. Kalyn Simpson, our band and choir teacher. Bringing instrumental and choral music to our fifth graders, she is a treasure to our district and we wish her the best in her next adventure.
Wednesday is field day, starting right at 9am. In the afternoon is our long awaited 5th grade vs. Staff Dodgeball game in the gym. After the game, we will head out to the lawn and launch the rockets that the Rocket Club made with Mr. Mark Brenden this spring and eat popsicles donated from Roth’s Fresh Markets.
The last day of school for all students will be Thursday, June 13. We will have an awards assembly in the morning, and lunch will be served before dismissal at 11:20am.
Lunch and Breakfast will be available again this summer for free to any child age 1-18 in our cafeteria, June 17 through August 16. Breakfast is 7:30-8:30am and Lunch 11:30-12:30pm.
Thank you families for a fantastic year. Registration for all returning students will be August 20th, 8:30-3pm and August 21st, 12pm-7pm. New students may come in early to register on August 13-14 from 8am-3pm. Class lists will be posted August 28, the day of our Welcome Back BBQ!
Have a fantastic summer!

Lost & Found
Lunch Accounts
There are 4 school-lunch days left for this year. It is very important that your child’s lunch account be brought current before the last day of school. Also, you might want to consider putting extra funds in his/her account at the end of the year to avoid standing in line on the very busy first week of school. This even applies to 5th graders since their account will be transferred up to the middle school. Thank you!
Library Books
Please make sure your student has returned and/or paid for all lost or damaged library books. Reminder slips, which will include the book title and cost of the book, will be coming home in homework folders and backpacks.
