OCT. 27-29: OPSRC World of Work Week
Join the Oklahoma Public School Resource Center (OPSRC) for the center's first World of Work Week, Oct. 27-29. This free, online event will be hosted on FutureLink Oklahoma, which is designed to provide students the opportunity to virtually connect with professionals through industry chats, customized teacher requests and an extensive video library. This is a great opportunity to increase student awareness of the careers available to them.
The World of Work Week industry chats will include opportunities to learn about the industries of aerospace, manufacturing, journalism, marketing, communications and data analytics. Additional chats will be added soon.
View the schedule of industry chats here.
To participate, set up a free account on FutureLink Oklahoma. Once you have completed registration, click "Join Live Industry Chats," sign up for the session that interests you and provide the secure access code to your students.
Students should set up their own accounts at https://student.nepris.com and enter the access code to join.
If you have questions, contact jacque.walsh@opsrc.net.

ICAP: Okcollegestart.org
Your student is starting the ICAP process for this year. Our ICAP will be done each year though OKcollegestart.org. Each student has an account already created from last year. Each day in Advocacy students should be logging on to work on their ICAP until all the required steps are complete.
If your student does not know how to access Okcollegestart.org, have them talk to their advocacy teacher or e-mail: amber.harp@littleaxeps.org
ICAP is not all about going to college. It helps the student understand their own interests, strengths, values and learning styles. It will help create a vision of their future, individual goals, prepare a personal plan for achieving their visions and goals. We want our students to know and understand all their opportunities after high school. High school is ONE stepping stone to adulthood and we want our students to be as prepared as possible.
Okedge.com is another great resources for parents and students.
ICAP is now a required graduation requirement that will be officially stated the student high school transcript.
