TOYS, STUFFED ANIMALS & PRIZED POSSESSIONS FROM HOME

Many students are starting to bring toys, stuffed animals and prized possessions from home. These items are not allowed at school. They can cause a distraction from learning and they can be lost or stolen. Please check your child's back pack and ask them to leave these items at home. You will be informed by your child's teacher if there is a special project or event in which these items are allowed. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

SPEAKING OF PRIZED POSSESSIONS

Mrs. Douglas had a very nice stuffed EAGLE on top of one of the library shelves. The Eagle has somehow been lost. We have given out stuffed animals for students to take home as prizes, however, the Eagle was not intended to be a prize. If anyone comes across this stuffed animal, Mrs. Douglas would be very happy to have it back in the library.

A LOOK IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR

  • We had two Mystery Behavior Fridays! Students were rewarded who were caught "helping other students and adults without being asked," and "Cleaning up and putting things where they belong."
  • We practiced an evacuation drill.
  • We enjoyed the Fall Family Fun Event @CUES Football Field. Students loved the pony rides, tug-of-war, pie eating contest, 3-legged race, hay rides and the grocery cart parade. Thank you to the PTO members for hosting this event! Good old fashioned fun was had by all!

CES PRINCIPAL'S WISH LIST

The very first plaque I bought for my first classroom said "WISH IT, DREAM IT, DO IT!" We have a vision for our school and the "extras" enhance the educational setting for our students. There are some needs for our school that go beyond what the general budget and PTO budget can meet. Rather than doing a fundraiser, I thought I would just let the WISHES and DREAMS be known.

If you are able to contribute any amount toward any of the WISHES below, your donation is received with gratefulness. You can click on the button below to see some of the items on our Amazon Smile Wish List! If you prefer, we will accept cash or checks payable to "Columbia Elementary School." A receipt for your contribution will be provided. If there is a specific item you would like your donation to go toward, please feel free to write that on the check or envelope.
