Immunizations
CMS families are encouraged to have their children immunized for the 2020-2021 school year. Vaccines and health assessments are required by the state for children to attend school. On Aug. 11, N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper extended the compliance deadline for immunizations and health assessments to Oct. 31.
Vaccinations are required for students entering kindergarten, seventh grade and 12th grade. Families may receive more information from their doctor, school nurse or the Mecklenburg County Public Health Department, 704-336-6500, which has vaccine-only appointments.
