Children Programs

Lucky the Leprechaun’s Gold

March 1 through March 31, during library hours, Harmony Library and Glocester Manton Library

Age Level: All Ages Registration is not necessary.

Visit both the Glocester Manton Library and the Harmony Library to guess how many gold coins that Lucky the Leprechaun has in his jar! The closest (or correct) guess will win a prize at the end of the month.


Chia Heads

Candy Science

Baby Sensory Time

Wednesday, March 15, 10 a.m., Glocester Manton Library

Age Level: Ages 0 to 2.5 years old

Sensory bags (sometimes called squish bags) are bags filled with items that engage children’s senses, mostly the senses of touch and sight, and occasionally smell and sound. Sensory bags are the perfect way to introduce babies to sensory play and keep them entertained during tummy time!


Pokémon Clay Figures

Thursday, March 16, 5 p.m., Harmony Library

Age Level: Ages 6 and up

Join Ms. Jen to make Pokémon clay figures. You can then take your figure home and bake in the oven on low heat to harden the clay.

LEGOs – Extreme Shelters

Tuesday, March 28, 5 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Age Level: Ages 5 and up

Your LEGO Building Challenge will be extreme shelters this month. After the challenge, we will give children the opportunity to get creative and build anything they choose with LOTS of LEGOS. They can work on their own creations or build as a team. The Glocester Manton Library will provide the LEGOS, while the children will provide the imagination!

Teen Resin Jewelry Making

Monday, March 13, 5 p.m., Harmony Library

Age Level: Ages 11 and up

Join us in making resin jewelry! Each participant will be able to make a pendant and a set of earrings. All supplies will be provided.

Cookbook Club

Monday, March 6, 6 p.m., Harmony Library

Our cookbook for March is This Will Make It Taste Good: A New Path to Simple Cooking by Vivian Howard. A native of North Carolina, Howard has been featured in two public television programs, A Chef's Life and Somewhere South. She is dedicated to the local food movement.


This is how the club works: every month, pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the Harmony Library. Choose a recipe to make and prepare it for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences. If you would like to join the Cookbook Club, register here and then drop by the Harmony Library to pick up a copy of the book.


Tuesday Movie Matinee

Fearless Art

Wednesday, March 8 and March 22, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Adults of all ages and artistic abilities looking to experiment with painting and drawing are invited to join. We have created a supportive atmosphere for people to come together, explore art, find their own artistic style, and be inspired and influenced by others. Currently, we are exploring watercolor and will continue in that direction. This is a group-guided art adventure! Join the journey!


Writers’ Group

No registration required. Note: The group recently changed meeting from the third Thursday to the second Thursday monthly.
Share your writing with your peers! The Harmony Library Writers’ Group is open to writers in all genres and forms, including poetry. At each meeting, you will read a few pages of your work in progress, share your experience, and receive feedback from fellow writers. Native Perennials in the Garden

Master Gardener Martha Baton will discuss the benefits of planting and cultivating native perennials in your garden. They play a vital role in fostering the ecological balance that is crucial to a healthy environment. Come with your questions!


Evening Book Discussion and Dinner

Join us for a delicious dinner followed by a lively discussion of the highly acclaimed The Master Butcher’s Singing Club by Louise Erdrich. Copies of the book will be available at the Harmony Library Circulation Desk.


Ukrainian Egg Craft

Tuesday, March 28, 5:30 p.m., Harmony Library

The Ukrainian egg lady, Lisa Schipritt, is returning to the Harmony Library! Participants will learn how to create a beautiful Easter egg just in time for the holiday. This program is open to adults and older teens (14+) and all materials will be provided. Participants should bring a container, such as a yogurt or margarine container, to safely transport their egg home. Note: Registration begins on March 7 at 6 p.m.

Join us for a discussion of Icebound: Shipwrecked at the Edge of the World by Andrea Pitzer. Copies of the book are available at the Harmony Library.
