5th grade news

what's going on?!

WOW this week FLEW by!

I hope you enjoyed DARE graduation on Monday.

Remember this coming Monday is a full, normal day.

Tuesday-Friday will be half days (Pick up at 11:30)

Tuesday: Cougar pride (Jeans or uniform pants, NO skinny jeans or leggings)

Wednesday: casual day (NO skinny jeans or leggings)

Thursday: Christmas clothes (party day)

Friday: UNIFORMS (Grandparent's day) ...girls-skirts and white shirts

boys-khakis and white shirts

Remember that students may bring in shirts and supplies (fabric markers, pom poms, fabric glue/hot glue sticks, sequins, puffy paint, etc....) on Tuesday to decorate!

(I went to 5 Below this week and found a set of fabric markers for 5 dollars)

ALL STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW THEIR EMAIL AND APPLE ID PASSWORDS, we've had several issues this week with kids not knowing these passwords and not being able to get in to apps that they needed. This also affects them receiving emails.

Make sure to check out your child's research projects/other work outside their homerooms when you are at school next week!

We've been working on a mini unit on figurative language (Christmas/Winter themed) and Robert Frost poetry. It's been a fun way to end the quarter.

The AR goal for this quarter is 100,000 words. I gave out reports this week to let each student know where they stand.

I have lots and lots of projects and papers graded and will record them this weekend. You will see many papers in Science and History come home on Monday.

We have had the best week discussing Child Labor and Moving West. Your children really get into our interactive activities and I know they are gaining a lot from them. Thank you for trusting me and supporting me in the way I teach. :)
