We had a great week back following the Learning Cycle break! The next several weeks will fly by and pretty soon it will be the end of the year. Please continue to read the newsletter so that you can stay up to date on any new information that arises.

NEWS

Almost Home Art Contest

Almost Home Inc. is hosting an art contest with prizes for all students from Adams and Weld county. There will be a first and second place winner from both elementary and middle school. Each artwork will be displayed in the new Almost Home office space. The prompt is. “What Does Home Look Like To You?” Please give your finished artwork to your classroom teacher in a 9”x12” envelope (the standard size for manila envelopes). CMAS State Testing

In-Person and Remote Families, please read our CMAS 2021 Parent Letter regarding important information about this year’s CMAS testing. Remote families, please read this communication explaining our test administration plan for virtual students and respond to our short survey by Monday, March 1st.


Spring Conferences

BECS will host virtual Spring Conferences the week of March 15th. All teachers will be reaching out starting March 3rd to schedule conferences. Elementary teachers will share a Sign up Genius with available times throughout the week. Middle school teachers will be scheduling team conferences March 16 - 18th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM, prioritizing students with learning plans and academic or behavioral concerns. For families of middle school students who would like a conference, but do not receive an invite, please reach out to your child’s teacher directly.


Student ID's

We have noticed an increase in students who have lost/misplaced their student ID. In-person students must have this for school lunch. If a student requires a replacement ID, the first one will be replaced free of charge. Any additional replacements incur a $5 fee added to the students' infinite campus account. Please assist us by reminding your student to keep their ID in a safe spot and to remember to bring that with them for lunch. Thank you!

REMINDERS

8th Grade Families

As 8th graders have been thinking about their high school options this past month, we know there have been multiple registration questions. The BECS counseling department has set aside the first week in March to assist students in their registration process. Students going to BHS will have the opportunity to ask BHS counselors questions during LEAD class on March 4th. Students planning on going to one of the other high schools will also have the chance to meet with one of our counselors if they have questions regarding their registration. BECS Board Seeking New Directors

We have always been fortunate to have great parents who have helped steer the direction of the school with our children in mind. The BECS Board of Directors is seeking to fill new seats and would love your input. With great Executive Directors Dr. Fiedler and Mrs. Webber running our operations, the responsibilities of the Board are less than in years past and we now focus on the big picture and end goals for BECS. We welcome new ideas and individuals who can bring fresh perspectives to ensure BECS remains a preeminent charter school in Colorado. BECS PTO - Open Seat

PTO is holding board seat elections at the March 4th meeting. There is one current seat available, Assistant Communications Marketing Specialist. The Assistant Communications Marketing Specialist shall assist the Communications Marketing Specialist specialist and carry out the Communications Marketing Specialist’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve. The Assistant Communications Marketing Specialist will work in conjunction with the Communications Marketing Specialist for all social media and website information about the PTO. Making certain that website and Facebook sites are up to date. Post weekly on social media outlets to increase parent involvement and awareness. Lifetouch Spring Pictures

  • March 10: K-5 (REMOTE students K-5 can come between 7:30-8:30 entering through our WEST side doors.)

  • March 11: 6-8 (REMOTE students 6-8 can come between 7:30-8:30 entering through our WEST side doors.)

All students will be photographed. This is a free dress day for the grade levels scheduled for pictures; however, please ensure dress code appropriateness is being followed. Students do not have to pay ahead. There will not be retakes for this photo opportunity. Any pictures ordered will be shipped to your home and not the school.
