PINE HOLLOW MIDDLE SCHOOL

October 25, 2019

Dear Parents,

1st Quarter Report Cards were distributed to students this past Monday. We are extremely proud of how the students did 1st Quarter - attendance and grades were higher than last year, and our iReady test scores showed great progress for many students! We will be announcing our 1st Quarter Honor Roll soon for students who achieved a 3.5 or higher GPA, and we will be awarding students PRIDE Points for academic, attendance, and behavioral excellence based on their 1st Quarter success.

You can always check your child's HomeLink account for grades, assignments, test scores, and current progress. If you cannot access HomeLink, please contact our main office for support. As we start the 2nd Quarter and students settle into their classes, please feel free to contact your teachers if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you,

Ben Campopiano
Principal
Pine Hollow Middle School

More PG&E Power Shutoffs

There is a possibility that PG&E will implement more planned power shutoffs in the coming days. In the event of a power outage (or any emergency situation) at Pine Hollow, we will initiate our emergency protocols, and then I will communicate with parents as quickly as possible with more information. Please click here to sign up to receive our alerts and notices.

HOLLOWeen is Coming

On Halloween Day (Thursday, October 31) students are encouraged to dress up in costumes, but must follow these guidelines.

Unity Day / National Bullying Awareness Day

Pine Hollow students and staff joined other schools around the world by participating in Unity Day activities this past Wednesday. Students and staff wore orange to show that we are working together against bullying, and that we are united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. Teachers and homeroom classes also discussed bullying and how we can better support each other.

Red Ribbon Week

Next week (October 28-November 1), Pine Hollow is celebrating Red Ribbon Week, which focuses on educating students about drugs, vaping, and other substance abuse. We will have discussions, dress-up days, and other activities to help students better understand the dangers of drugs.

Did you know?

Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.
