Mountain Lion Minute

Week of February 15th

Hello Montgomery Families,

I hope you're doing well and enjoying your long weekend. As you know by now, we will be transitioning a large number of our students back into the building for 5 days a week. This transition will begin on Monday, February 22nd. We have worked tirelessly to sort through a number of factors in order to allow as many students as possible to attend in person instruction 5 days a week. My understanding is that all parents who submitted requests on the initial survey will be notified of the outcome this coming Tuesday evening, the 16th. We will be reviewing all additional requests that were received after the survey closed during the week of the 22nd. Stay tuned for additional information in the coming weeks.

Preparation for 5-day/Hybrid Students: Now that we have examined the results of the survey and gained approval from the school board for a start date, we have done the following to prepare for the return of additional students.

  • Desk Arrangement to ensure 6 feet of distance between additional students.
  • Student Materials/ Personal Belongings: Hybrid students will now share desks, therefore our staff has been asked to come up with a plan to store student materials.
  • Classroom Seating Charts
  • Dismissal Plan
  • Additional 3rd Grade Section: We will be adding a fifth 3rd grade section to the Montgomery. We are in the process of looking to hire a new teacher for this position.

Mrs. Rose Carroll- Inclusion Facilitator

"New to Montgomery, Rose Carroll joins us from her previous district where she was a learning support teacher in a co-taught environment. Although her job title in North Penn says Inclusion Facilitator, she has become so much more. Rose has been acting as the co teacher in 6th grader over the past few months. This added responsibility has come with many obstacles. Rose has faced each challenge with integrity and professionalism. She has come to class each day with a warm and welcoming smile and a positive attitude. The students in the classroom are always happy to see her. Her warm personality puts even the most fragile student at ease. She is open-minded and a true team player. We are lucky to have her as a part of our school community. Thank you for working hard and going above and beyond to be supportive and helpful! "
