DES - Tier 2 Model Site

Congratulations to the students and staff of DES for being recognized as a Reach MS Tier 2 Model Site for PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports). This is quite an accomplishment, as there are few schools in the state that have achieved Model Site for Tier 2 processes. As a Model Site, other schools are encouraged to visit our school and observe the processes we have in place for behavior support for our students. We also receive a $500 stipend, which will go toward student and teacher rewards.

School Board Appreciation Week

This week, the nation celebrates school board appreciation week. We are very thankful to have a school board that encourages our staff, cheers on our students, and supports our community. If you see any of these board members out and about this week, be sure to express your appreciation for their efforts.

School Board Members: Margaret Jean Kalif, Scott Naugle, Skip King, Cecil Lizana, Avra O'Dwyer, Mark Alexander

Congratulations to third grade students for having the highest attendance rate for the month of January. Please help us maintain our 95% attendance rate by sending your student to school every day, unless they are truly sick. Congratulations to Team Charity for accumulating the most points during the month of January. These students were able to participate in the Mardi Gras parade as a reward and set the next monthly challenge. They chose an ice cream social for the team with the most amount of points at the end of February. It was a tight race last month. Let's see which team comes in first place this month!
