Slide
A slide is the collapse of a slope along flat sliding plane, rain adds weight to the soil and particles and it slides.
Earth Flow
An Earth flow is a water saturated slope where the particles move downhill and all the vegetation goes with.
Mud Flows
A mud flow occurs in an area where there isn't very much vegetation and it rains and the bare dirt turns to mud and starts to slide.
Slump
A slump is a slope failure where rocks fall and there is a lip at the base of the hill that catches the rocks.
Flow
In a flow, a section of slope becomes unstable and the center of the flow moves faster than the outside.
