Calling All Comics!!!

Parents! We are looking for old comic books that you no longer want! Any kind of school-appropriate comic books, newspaper funnies, scrapbooking materials that are comic-book-related, anything that you NO LONGER WANT or need, please send to our class for a special project we are working on! Please ask friends, neighbors and family members to join in the search for old comics to donate to us! Thank you in advance for your help! Projects Fully Funded!!!

Thanks to a very generous group of parents, anonymous donors and companies, not just one but BOTH of our class projects with were fully funded! Hallelujah!

For those of you who aren't familiar with the program, DonorsChoose is a classroom charity program we have been using for several years. Any classroom teacher can submit a class project on the website, to be considered for receiving funding for their project. Project items might include books, materials, office supplies, There was a special funding drive called #BestSchoolDayEver, which donated $15 million dollars to the DonorsChoose charity last week (we were on Spring Break).

As a result of this funding drive EVERY classroom project in the state of Texas, as well as other states, were fully funded! A big thank you to parents from our SIP classes, Mrs. Gerig and Mrs. Potter, as well as other people for getting our projects started with their first donations.

Our class projects included over 50 books, a 64g iPad Mini 4 to power our class robot, "Iota", a wireless keyboard for the iPad Mini, a soft iPad protective cover, a VGA cord to connect our iPad Mini 4 to the document camera in our classroom, a bluetooth speaker as well as art supplies for projects and more! We are so lucky!

Thank you again to all parents who have participated in past and present project donations! We appreciate you all!
