Coronavirus Threat
At our Coffee & Conversation session on Wednesday a question was asked about Holly Academy's plan should we get a case of coronavirus at school or if our local community has cases. In the event we have a case at school we would close for one or more days to thoroughly clean and disinfect the school buildings and then follow the health department's recommendations. Should there be cases in our area, we would follow the guidance of the Oakland County Health Department, as we do for all infectious diseases.
We do have a pandemic flu plan, which would be activated if the health department recommends that schools close. This plan entails virtual learning through google classroom, assignments posted on Skyward and the google calendar, and work being sent through the U.S. Mail. Please rest assured that the Academy will do everything we can to protect the health and safety of our Huskies! Power of the Pack!

Reading tips to support March is Reading Month at home:
- Students do best academically when they have a stable home routine. Try to remove stressful mornings and evenings.
- Read at home by reading with and to your children.
- Be a great reading partner by being patient and encouraging.
- Be a reader - when children see how much you enjoy reading they are more likely to choose reading as a home activity.
- Make a special reading spot. A comfy spot in the house that is enticing is a great way to support reading.
Next Friday, March 13th, four students will be traveling to Trillium Academy for the Michigan Charter School State Spelling Bee. The students representing Holly Academy are the winners and runner ups from the HA Spelling Bee that was held on February 6th. Representing our elementary school will be Aria Guru and Juliet Rowen. The middle school representatives are Iris Bravender and Olivia Iddings. We are so proud of these ladies and wish them the very best of luck next Friday! Dare to be remarkable!
