Beethoven was born on December 17th, 1770 in Bonn Germany. He loved his mother Maria, but feared his hard-drinking father. One time when Beethoven visited Vienna for the first time, he met Mozart.'''You will make a big noise in the world''' Mozart told Beethoven and Beethoven did just that. Beethoven never got married. He didn't have friends and after many years died a lonely death on March 26th, 1827. He was 57 years old.

Beethoven was one of seven children. After his father died he decided to stay in Vienna permanently and not to go back to Bonn. he started losing his hearing when he was 28. By the time he was 57, he was completely deaf. His temper was extraordinary. He threw hot food at waiters and made choir boys cry. Beethoven'd death was very dramatic. Lighting flashed and thunder cracked. Beethoven raised his hand and fell back, dead. His last words were: "I shall hear in Heaven."

Beethoven's 9th symphony broke records. It had stanzas from "Ode to Joy". It has choirs and solos in German. The ending has triumphant sounds and beautiful dinging. It is one of his best symphonies.
