COHORT D- Updates
Dear Families,
I want to inform you of some information we have at this time from the Florida Virtual School. The schedules are being built for students today. The schedules are going to closely align with the schedules students would have in Leicester. We will be working with the FLVS in the coming days and weeks to register students. They informed us that our students are on pace to begin using the platform during the week of September 24, 2020.
We have identified the teachers who will be trained to assist your students in their work. These teachers will receive training during the week of September 14, 2020. We have set up groups of students and matched them to a “facilitator.” The principals will be communicating that information to you. On September 10 and 11, 2020 you can expect that your child’s (children’s) facilitator will reach out to you to introduce him/herself and to get to know your child.
On September 10 and 11 there will be an online meeting hosted by Dr. Matthew Joseph for each group to meet the facilitator and talk about the next steps. On September 17 and 18 we will reconnect to talk about starting FLVS the next week. Your facilitators will also set up meets during the week.
We will provide weekly updates moving forward as more information becomes available.

Annual Health Form
Each year, parents must update the health information for students. In the past, we have completed this process through a paper packet that was sent home with students. Beginning this year, and going forward, this process will be completed through the Parent PowerSchool portal at http://leicester.powerschool.com. You must use the web browser version of PowerSchool, and you must use a parent account. You cannot complete this process with a student account or a mobile app.
1. Go to: http://leicester.powerschool.com
2. Login with your parent account. If you do not have a parent account, please contact your child's school.
3. On the left-hand side, choose forms, and fill out the Annual Health Forms.
YOU ONLY NEED TO COMPLETE THE TWO HEALTH FORMS -- you do not need to fill out the LPS Registration Forms.
Hand Sanitizer Opt-out
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we prepare the final details of our Hybrid model for this coming school year, we wanted to send some important information out before the first day of school.
Hand hygiene is an important part of keeping our students safe. We will be asking students to sanitize their hands several times throughout the day with an alcohol-based sanitizer. If you would like to opt out of having your student use hand sanitizer and to only utilize soap and water, please click HERE and complete the form.
Thanks and have a great night!
Tracey Kenny
Bus Ridership
If you chose bus transportation on the Learning Model Survey that was due last week, keep an eye on your email (and the District webpage) for information on times and stops. Students who have signed up for bus transportation will be given a bus pass and will have assigned seats on the bus (which will load back to front based on who gets picked up first). Masks must be worn on the bus. Please note: only students who registered for bus transportation will be picked up.

Chromebook fees are due ASAP
Attention students and parents...
Many of you have not yet paid for your Chromebook for this year.
Please see the links below and discuss them with your parents. These fees need to be paid ASAP.
Click the link below for the payment process.
Here is a video to help you through the process of registration if you are unfamiliar with Myschoolbucks.
In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever for students to have reliable access to technology in order to access the curriculum, and stay connected to their teacher. We believe our 1:1 program to be the safest, most cost effective, and hassle free way for students to carry their own device with them. More information on the 1:1 program can be found here.
Payments will only be accepted through our online payment portal on Myschoolbucks. Please contact berthiaumej@lpsma.net if there is a specific reason why you are unable to use this portal. If you have previously qualified for free or reduced lunch, the fee will be reduced automatically from $40 to $20 dollars in the registration portal. There is no additional waiver this year. If your family circumstances have changed and you would like to apply to the free and reduced lunch program, please send an email to Laurie Cascione - Director of Food Service, cascionel@lpsma.net. It is important that all registrations be completed as early this month as possible.
