Valentines Day

It is the day that people show their affection to one another by sending cards, flowers, chocolates with messages of love. This tradition started from a Roman festival called Lupercalia, when boys drew the names of a girl to be their girlfriend during the festival and sometimes to get married. The church soon turned it into a christian celebration to remember St. Valentines. Valentines day is made to be on February 14th because Valentines fell in love with a jailerś daughter after marriage was banned by Emperor Claudius II, so he was taken to be killed on this day.
