Reminders from Nurse Mary
As we return to having students in person 5 days a week, please keep these things in mind:
- Please do not send your student to school with any signs of illness. This would include headache, runny nose, cough, fever of 100.4 or greater, sore throat, stomachache. If your student shows any of these signs please contact your healthcare provider for further guidance.
- If anyone in the household has tested positive for COVID-19 please let the nurse know and keep your student home even if they do not have symptoms.
- Please send a reusable water bottle to school with your student every day. Water fountains will continue not be available; however, bottle filling stations will be.
- It may not be possible to maintain a 6-foot distance at all times, so it is even more important that everyone wear masks. All staff and students will continue to wear masks all day, except during mealtimes. Please note that neck gaiters and vented masks are not acceptable, and the students mask will need to be two layers of fabric and cover their mouth and nose at all times.
- If your student is unable to come to school, and/or participate in virtual learning, please call the school to let us know. We will have questions about symptoms, and the nurse will follow up with you on your student's symptoms as well. Please ensure all phone numbers in infinite campus are up to date and accurate.
- If your student develops symptoms of illness during the school day, it is important that they are picked up as soon as possible. Please prepare for this scenario before the school day so a ride home for your student can arrive promptly.
Harding Students Help the Community
Seventh Grade Students are hosting a Bake Sale to raise money for Water for South Sudan Saturday March 27 in the Harding Parking lot on Ovid and Cornell 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. Students were inspired upon reading "A Long Walk to Water" by Linda Sue Park in Literacy and their studies of social justice in Global Studies. "A Long Walk to Water" is partially based upon the story of Salva Sut, a "lost boy" of Sudan, who founded the non-profit Water for South Sudan. Students could earn the opportunity for a meet and greet with Salva Sut through their fundraising efforts. Come out and get a treat for a good cause! Questions about the fundraiser? please contact Mr. Herzberg
Hero Squad! Harding Middle School is proud to be apart of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's service learning project, The Hero Squad this school year. Our goal is to raise over $2,000 to develop research that will help kids with blood cancer. If each Harding student raises $3.00, about the cost of one bag of Takis, we will exceed our goal and make a positive difference in the lives of others. Harding Student Government and members of the Harding Wolf Pack, Brooke, Jaymaire, Eh, Leah, Lilly, Naleeya, Louis, MiKyra, Noreli, and Jose, have been working hard to come up with fun incentives and communication efforts to make our Hero Squad Fundraiser successful. You can donate March 29- April 12 on the Harding donation site!
Thank you for your support!
