Polite Notice
When dropping or collecting your children from the school, please be considerate of the local residents. If possible, try to determine a place further away from the school where your children can walk to/from in order to help ease congestion. Thank you.
Flu Vaccines
If you had consented for your child to have the Flu Vaccine at school on Tuesday 10th October and they did not get it done this was due to staff shortages and time running out by the Immunisation Team.
Please call the Immunisation Team to arrange for your child to get their Flu Vaccine on 0300 790 0597.
Black History Month 2023
The Black History Month Celebrations continued this week with the theme of 'Saluting our Sisters'.
This week the icon is Dame Jocelyn Barrow, the first black woman to be a governor of the BBC.
The Library has contributed to the celebrations by creating a delightful display that promotes amazing female authors. There are also activities, including wordsearches, available in the Library that students can complete for merits and house points.
On Thursday students listened to Afrobeats whilst dining on cultural food. Some students were even dancing in the dinner queue!
Next week students will learn about another icon and dine to a different genre of music.

Drama Notice
Notice for any students who performed in our production of Matilda, are involved in Glee Club, are in the Year 10 GCSE Drama class or who study Performing Arts in the 6th Form!!
A West End performer is coming in to run a workshop for a selection of students chosen for performing in our production of Matilda, being in the Glee Club, being in the Year 10 GCSE Drama class or being a BTEC Performing Arts student. This will involve the West End professional giving a talk to students about what it's like to audition and have a career in the industry, as well as taking questions and performing some songs for us.
It is taking place in ED1 during Periods 3 & 4 on Monday. Students should head straight to ED1 at the end of break time. Although this is an amazing opportunity for students, if they do not wish to attend, they can opt out and go to their normal lessons.
A letter has been sent to the parents/carers of the relevant students as well as an e-mail to each of the students. Any student who performed in Matilda, currently goes to Glee Club or studies GCSE Drama (Y10) or Performing Arts in our 6th Form is invited! If your child is unsure if they should attend, please tell them to speak to one of the Drama teachers.
The Digital Leaders Program
At CVHS we are introducing a new program that is open for students in Years 7, 8 and 9. The Digital Leaders program allows students who have a keen interest in computing technology to get involved in supporting us around the school, in class, and even assemblies!
So if you know how to fix computer problems but were not sure you could offer to help, or you want to learn more about how computing technology is used, or you just want to show off your technical skills, join the Digital Leaders program today!
Students will meet regularly to discuss the activities we have done or any new ones we could do, as well as meeting for any training that may be required. They will receive a nice new badge for their blazer and any help they give around the school will gain merits.
More importantly, for some students, this program gives them the opportunity to contribute to the school community in a way that they may feel more comfortable to do so and showcases their talents.
