Professional Development Flex Hours
Be reminded that all teachers are required to have 12 Flex hours of professional development from this summer. PD hours should be submitted with this Flex Form. If you did not attend a session that was scheduled in a Shoebox account, you must manually enter it yourself and provide evidence to get that credit. Attendance will be submitted to the district administration office for documentation. Please submit a printed copy of your shoebox transcript/PD documentation to Mrs. Walker or Ms. Adelowo by this Friday afternoon at 3:30 PM. This will serve as documentation of the completion of your professional development. Please let me know if you need assistance creating or accessing your Shoebox account. Student Attendance in TAC
All teachers must use TAC to record student attendance.
A student cannot be marked absent from a class until he/she has actually attended the class one time.
The following is the procedure we will use for recording attendance the first two weeks of school.
Monday, August 12 - Friday, August 23
Until the 10th day of school:
If the student has been present for at least one day in your class, use TAC to record student attendance. For students that are listed on your roster and have not shown up in class, please record their name on the attached sheet and keep until the 11th day of school.
Example 1:
If student John Doe attends your class on the first day and does not attend the second day, then he will need to be marked absent in TAC.
Example 2:
If student Jane Doe does not attend your class on the first or second day, you will write her name on the attached sheet. Once she does start attending you will write the date she first attended in the column labeled Date 1st Attended on the sheet. You will keep this sheet until the 11th day of school. You will then record any further absences in TAC since she has started attending your class.
Example 3:
If student Jack Doe has not attended your class but is listed on your roster you will not mark him absent in TAC, but you will record his name on the attached sheet and keep until the 11th day of school.
Monday, August 26: 11th day of school:
If a student is still listed on your roster in TAC and has not attended class at all, make sure the student's name is listed on the attached sheet and turn this sheet into your building office. This will allow the student registration staff to drop students that have not shown after 10 days and record the correct first date of attendance for those students that started coming to school after Aug. 12.
Please be aware that the roster you see in TAC is the same as the official roster in eSchool. If you have a student attending your class that is not listed on your roster, or if you have a student that is listed on your roster that has not been attending your class it is your responsibility to let your school office know this so the problem can be corrected.
Attendance for Staff
All staff members are required to contact an administrator in the event of an absence from school. Leaving a message does not constitute notification. You must speak with either Mrs. Walker (870-532-7866) or Ms. Adelowo (870-740-1526). If at all possible, contact should be made by 6:30 A.M. so that arrangements can be made to have your position covered for the day. In the event of a planned absence, a Request for Absence form should be completed and submitted to the office for administrative approval. After the absence is approved, the principal/designee should secure an approved substitute for the days needed. Detailed lesson plans must be provided for your substitute teacher.
*Remember, there is no substitute for a teacher!!!
If you have been absent from work and did not complete a request for absence form, you will need to sign a Return Slip. Return slips are available in the office or with the attached link. Your prompt attention is required.
Staff Instructional Day
Staff are required to be present from 7:40 - 3:40 each day.
