Transition to 9th grade
FMS Counseling Department: Mrs. Burfield, Mrs. Horstmeier and Ms. Jo
Needing to see the school counselor?
Students needing to access the counselor's office can submit a form from their chrome books by logging into classlink and clicking on the FMS Guidance Office Icon. This form comes only to the counselor's. 6th graders will learn about this form on Wednesday and Thursday through their PE classes when Mrs. Burfield, Mrs. Horstmeier and Mr. Varner come in to visit. You can also ask your teacher for help. If you can't locate the icon in classlink, your teacher can send us a note. Obviously if there is an emergency, students will be helped immediately. Our form is just a great way to help students stay in the classroom for instruction time if the counselors are tied up in a meeting or helping another student.
Here are a few ways you can reach out to us in the FMS Counseling Office:

News From The Art Room
Yellow everyone!
I hope everyone had a great week. I hope that you are all adjusting to the quarantine successfully! We surely miss seeing each of you. This week everyone (6th, 7th & 8th Grade) should be finishing the origami creations, catching up on the Watercolor assignments, as well as beginning the virtual Mosaics. All three of these assignments have been grouped together, because of my ongoing transition into the art room. I have seen some impressive Watercolor, creative origami, and epic Mosaics already. Keep up the good work everyone!
Tuesday Nov. 24th, ALL CLASSES will have a virtual catch up day. There will be no new assignments pushed out on that day for any class. This entire day will be designated to catching up on all prior assignments that you may need to complete or redo. If all of your work is not turned in (and accurately completed) by the end of the day Tuesday, you will start out Monday Nov. 30th (in seat) in your advisory class for the entire block catching up on any missing assignments.
For those of you who do not know me yet, my name is Madison Washington. I am transitioning into the art room, because Mr.Z has begun basketball. I am so excited about our upcoming art projects. We will get the chance to get our hands dirty with some clay, explore different painting techniques and styles, and maybe we will build some awesome 3-D structures. I cannot was for you all to return and explore the wonderful world of ART with me.
"How do artists greet one another?"
"Yellow!"
Artfully Yours,
Ms. Washington

Hello!
Since we have moved to Virtual learning until November 30th, it's a little more difficult to get books delivered to you! So, I have made a form for you to fill out if you would like to come by and pick up a book from our school. The form can be found in the Virtual Library below. Please use the FMS Library link to search for books.

If you would like your own Daniel Boone Regional Library card, you can print an application from the DBRL website: https://www.dbrl.org/using-the-library/library-card-faqs/how-do-i-get-a-library-card
The DBRL card gets you access to Hoopla! Hoopla is an amazing app that allows you to check out books from the DBRL online. They have books, audiobooks, comics, music, movies, and more!
