Background
Born on January 12, 1958 in London, England.
Got a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island
Her mother was English and her father was Iranian, she was the oldest of four sisters. She grew up in Tehran, Iran. Amanpour was sent to a Catholic girls’ boarding school in England at 11 years old.
Her world was turned upside down in 1979 when the revolution toppled the shah of Iran.
She is currently married to James Rubin. They have a son named Darius.
