Students learn about logic (statements)!
Students in Mrs. Amber Niswonger's class listened to 18 conditional statements and used those statements to draw a picture. If the hypothesis of the conditional statement applied to their picture then they had to do the conclusion part of the conditional statement. Students then compared their pictures to see if any one missed a statement.
They talked about what inverse, converse, and contrapositive statements were. Students received conditional statements along with notecards that had inverse, converse, and contrapositive statements on them. Students figured out what kind of statement they had and then moved to the corresponding sign.
They also related last months TAA session into the lesson. They talked about how listening and paying attention was a very important soft skill and many of the students realized they did not listen as much as they thought they did.
