Happy Saturday, Bobcat Families! We hope you are staying dry on this rainy Saturday. Our Boosterthon had an incredibly successful week, and we look forward to our Fun Run next Wednesday, April 5th. Parents are more than welcome to attend this event - be on the lookout for more information about times, etc. from the PTA. We have a four day week of school next week - there is no school on Good Friday, April 7th. We hope you have a nice Spring Break the following week, and please note school resumes on Monday, April 17th.
Summer Opportunities
Check out this awesome list of summer Opportunities, including scholarships. Please reach out to our School Social Worker, Sandra Corrente, for any support with summer opportunities.
GPS Summer School Updates
2023 GPS Summer School will be in session from Monday, July 3rd through Friday, August 4th.
In addition to Extended School Year (ESY) services for all eligible PreK-12+ special education students, our summer programs will support academic support for invited K-8 students with priority needs in literacy and math. This year, we offer tutoring options in literacy or math for invited families who opt out of the full-day program. In addition to our academic support programs, we will hold Advanced Bridge Courses for middle school math students looking to accelerate their learning and Credit/Credit Recovery courses for GHS students.
Invited students will be notified by Saturday, April 1st via Parent Link. Families will be able to register using Family ID; links are provided in invitation letters. All registrations are due by Friday, May 19th for K-8 students.
More information regarding programming times, course descriptions, and registration can be found on the Greenwich Summer School Website.
Byram Shubert Library Events!
April will be here soon and the Friends of the BSL will hold some new and exciting programs, along with our regular favorites.
On April 1st at 10:30 a.m., we will have our first Storytime and Egg Hunt. Stories of rabbits and all sorts of wild fowl will be shared by Carol Birch, storyteller extraordinaire. The egg hunt will follow outside and A FREE BOOK will be given to all children.
On April 22 at 10:30 a.m., join us for conversations of the unique history of Byram. Please bring your old photos, cherished memorabilia, and timeless stories. Local architect and Byram historian Patricia Kantorski and the Friends of the Byram Shubert Library will be there to document everyone's contributions for the Byram Heritage Project.
On April 27 at 5:30 p.m. the Friends will hold its First VIP reception with wine, appetizers, a time to meet the Peter Hand Jazz Band members, and a Silent Auction filled with many fun items. All proceeds will benefit programs at the BSL. Tickets can be bought on eventbrite using this link or at the door.
Following the auction, at 7:00 p.m. the Jazz Concert is open to the public.
Don't miss the Western Middle School Art Exhibit which will be on display all month long.
School Enrollment Goes Online
Do you have a new neighbor with children that expect to attend GPS next year? If so, we now have an online registration system, which is more efficient and easier for families. Online registration for the 2023-2024 school year opened on March 1, 2023.
