WEEKLY REMINDERS

Lateness

When a student is late to school, he/she must report to the school office for a late pass. Minutes of unexcused lateness will be documented.

When a lateness is the result of a Doctor/Dental Appointment, a note signed by a health care professional treating the student is necessary. If a note is not received, the lateness will be considered unexcused.

Spelling Bee

The high school hosted the Interboro School District spelling bee on Saturday, January 11th. Norwood was proud to send six stellar spellers to the bee: Laci Cheatham, Olivia Gallagher, Viviana Huang, Danny Keeney, Susanna Luu, and Hailey Wallace. All of our spellers were impressive and studied hard. Olivia Gallagher hung on until the 13th round, and Laci Cheatham captured third place. This year the champion's trophy will go to Prospect Park. Laci and Olivia will go on to the DCIU in Morton. We wish them lots of luck!

The Dentist is coming to school on February 21, 2020

  • Once again, we are partnering with SMILE Programs...the mobile dentists to offer in-school dental care.

  • Even better, dental care is usually at no cost to you. All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and CHIP. For those without insurance, a low cost self-pay option is available.

  • Our in-school dental program saves you time and provides a safe and comfortable place for your child to receive gentle dental care from licensed local professionals

  • Dental Care includes a complete dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants when necessary, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings.

STUDENT COUNCIL HAPPENINGS

Kindness Rock Garden

The Student Council is in the process of helping create a "Kindness Rock Garden" at Norwood School. The Student Council and a few 5th grade students helped paint rocks this week after school. Eventually, positive messages will be written on the rocks and the rock garden will be created.
