Dear Families,
I hope everyone had a great time back in the building at our PTA Spooktacular. It was such a great event and exciting to see so many families having a good time. I would like to thank all parent volunteers and the PTA for their hard work to make this event a success.
I also have to bring something else to your attention regarding Friday night. During this event students were behind the curtain of our stage, unsupervised and damaged our Winnie The Pooh set and scenery. This was disappointing knowing how hard students and staff worked to create scenery for our upcoming play. In the future, at all after school events, we ask parents to carefully supervise their children at all times. I am confident that if we all work together in active supervision, we will all be able to come together as a community to have fun and enjoy our bobcat community.
The PTA also brought the fun with our enrichment event, "Perfection on Wheels." We will continue to have many more opportunities for parents to come into the building and join us as partners in their child's education and the fun!
This month we have:
- Halloween Parade
- Election Day Bake Sale
- Books and Bagels
- Building Tour & PTA Meeting
- Veteran's Day Ceremony
- Pastries with Parents
More details about these exciting events below and certainly more to come!
Finally, the most important reminder that I can share is, our doors open at 8:00am. We have approx. 30-35 students a day who are coming after 8:15. Math, Reading, Writing, Cursive, multiplication practice, etc. has started. If your child comes after 8:15am they are late and missing academics. If a child is 15 min late each day, they miss 45 hours of learning each school year. Please help your child by bringing them to school as close to 8am as possible.
Thank you for your continued support!
Your Interim Principal & Assistant Principal,
Mrs. Eisenstein & Mrs. Vaccarelli
Halloween Parade
Some logistics:
Children may bring their costumes to school but cannot wear them all day long. We ask that costumes be appropriate for elementary school since PreK-2 students can scare easily. Please follow these guidelines:
· No full face masks
· No blood
· No weapons
· No color hairspray or make-up because we are asking that students do not come to school with their costume on and we do not want them applying these items during the school day.Allergies, Holidays, & Events
Halloween is a fun time of the year, but for children with food allergies and their parents it can be a very scary time for a very serious reason.
During this Halloween season it is a good time to remind everyone that we are an allergy aware school and are committed to keeping all children safe. As candy and treats abound before and after Halloween, please be mindful of the foods you bring into the school for snack and lunch. Parents should read labels carefully for the most common food allergies frequently found in candy : peanuts, tree nuts, milk, wheat, eggs, soy, and sesame and be aware of foods made in a facility that processes them. Students, please do not share food and remember to wash your hands before and after eating.
Let’s remember to have fun and keep all students safe and feeling included this Halloween.
